Following the heartbreaking terror attack that struck an Ariana Grande concert on Monday evening in Manchester, CBBC’s Newsround have given advice to parents on how to explain terrorism to young children.
22 people were killed and so far a further 119 have been reported injured during the awful attack, including many young children.
Directing the advice at specifically youngsters Newsround gave tips on what they can do if they are worried about anything they read on the news.

Following the attack US singer Ariana has paid tribute to the victims and their families as she revealed she’s “broken” over the horrific attack.
Writing on Twitter she said: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”
With many of the fans involved in the ordeal believed to be children and teenagers TV programme Newsround have issued their advice to parents.
The children’s TV programme wrote: “If you are reading about what’s happened in Manchester and it’s making you feel anxious or sad, it’s important to know that you are not the only one and it’s OK to have those feelings.
“This section gives you some tips about what to do if you are feeling sad about what you’ve seen, heard or read.”
They went on to explain what children who are worried can do if they are “upset by the news”.
“If the news has upset you, talk to an adult you trust about it,” they said.
They also wrote: “Try to balance the news you read. If you read a sad story then try and read a happy one before you go to bed.”

They ended the post by saying: “Don’t forget – terrible things are on the news because they are rare and do not happen very often.
“The most important thing is that if you are feeling upset, don’t keep what’s troubling you about the news to yourself.”
Meanwhile, many celebs have paid their tributes to the victims and their families of the Manchester attack.
James Cordon said: “It shocks me every time we hear this sort of news that attacks like this can happen, but especially when there will be so many children at this concert tonight.
“My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Manchester tonight.”
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan added: “‘It was full of beautiful little girls and beautiful little boys.’ – eye witness to #ManchesterBombing. Just heart-breaking. RIP.”
American singer Cher also wrote: “MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO PPL OF MANCHESTER…HAD SPECIAL TIMES THERE FROM YOUTH & BEYOND.”
