It’s always awkward when you bump into an ex when you’re with a new partner.
But when it’s at an event with tabloid journos and cameras keeping a watchful eye on you, it’s even more awks, as you’re most definitely under a lot of scrutiny.
Last night Nick Knowles was – shock horror – in the same room as Gemma Oaten, the woman he supposedly had a fling with a while back.
The beefy housewives’ favourite scooped an award for DIY SOS and had to walk past Gemma’s table to collect it.
According to reports, as he sashayed past her, and made a point of not looking at her and proceeded to the stage.

However, her boyfriend Scott Walker was happy enough to congratulate the hunk on his award and shook his hand, suggesting there was no beef.
Earlier on in the evening, Nick and Gemma had another near miss.
Gemma was on the red carpet chatting to the crowds when Nick rolled up in his car, got out and proceeded to go straight into the ceremony without stopping to meet and greet fans.
A fellow guest told The Sun: “Nick was avoiding Gemma at all costs and trying to fast track to his table.
“Gemma was sat quite far away on the other side of the room had no intention of speaking to Nick as she was sat with her new boyfriend.”
Oh yes, let’s not forget that Gemma is with a new guy and moved in with him, so there is the slight possibility that she may have actually moved on as people do.

Meanwhile, Nick had tongues wagging when he turned up to the awards with a brunette on his arm, a brunette who wasn’t his supposed current squeeze, Pascal Cramer.
We reached out to Nick Knowles’ people to find out who his stunning guest was.
They replied: “We will not be passing comment on who attended the awards with Nick.”
Hmm, the plot thickens.
