TV star Nicola McLean has exclusively shared a health update as she revealed she was misdiagnosed in the past.
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, who rose to high-profile fame as a glamour model, has been open about her anxiety over the years.
Previously, she appeared on Loose Women in 2017 and shared that it was so bad, she could barely pick up the phone and call for a takeaway. Nicola also confessed that she relied on her husband, former footballer Tom Williams, too much. In the past, she also suffered from eating disorders.

Nicola McLean’s health
Fast forward to 2025, and Nicola has revealed to ED! that things have started looking up for her since being medicated for ADHD.
According to the NHS, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a “condition where the brain works differently to most people. If you have ADHD, you may have trouble with things like concentrating and sitting still. There are things you can do to help manage your symptoms.”
“For the last maybe year, definitely since the end of last year, this is the best I’ve ever been, mentally,” she told Entertainment Daily.
“A lot of my anxieties were misdiagnosed. The GPs are always wanting to give women antidepressants. I’ve never been depressed in my life. I’m thankful that I’m always happier than not. But my anxiety was really, really terrible,” Nicola continued.
“Since I’ve started taking ADHD medication, honestly, I’ve been super good. Like, my eating disorder is under control. My anxieties are fine. So yeah, touch wood. I feel great.”

‘I really wanted to do Dancing On Ice’
Having participated in Celebrity Big Brother twice and I’m A Celeb, Nicola is no stranger to a reality show. However, while it’s been a minute since she signed herself up to one, that hasn’t stopped her from eyeing up potential gigs.
“I really wanted to do Dancing On Ice. I’m a big fan of it, and now it’s bloody finished, so I’m gutted about that. I’d like to have done that,” she said.
“I toy with the idea of SAS: Who Dares Wins because I was an Army cadet. That’s what I was going to do. I was gonna join the Army before I became a Page 3 girl. I mean, polar opposite. And so I toy with that one, but I don’t like people shouting at me. So I think I’d end up losing my [bleep] if they were that they were shouting at me.”
She continued: “But, I love reality TV. I also liked the Celebrity Bear Hunt one. I’d be up for most of them. I think apart from Strictly. I can’t dance, I’m useless.”
