It’s most definitely been a series of dramas on AND off the dancefloor, but we never expected this!
Brendan Cole has been forced to PULL OUT of Strictly Come Dancing!
However, it’s not all bad news, as he has been replaced by gorgeous new dancer Gorka Marquez, who spun the dearly departed Tameka Empson around the floor until a fortnight ago.
But don’t worry folks, Brendan hasn’t quit the series for good – he’s just taking some time out of rehearsals with Anastacia to try to shake off a severe chest infection.
Speaking on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, Brendan told Zoe Ball the news, adding, “I’ll let you into a little secret. We have the lovely Gorka stepping in for me for a few days.
However, the dancefloor wonder joshed that his nose is a little bit out of joint because he’s been replaced by the hot new dancer.
“I don’t know how happy I am about it – he’s Spanish, he’s good looking and has a body which is pretty much the best on the show.”
Feeling for her poorly partner, Anastacia joked that she “hadn’t noticed” Gorka’s ‘hot’ bod and that her practise sessions with him had been “awful”.
However, she did tease Brendan that if he wanted to compete with his dance rival, he might consider getting tats like the younger and dashing Gorka!
Brendan revealed that he has forced to rest by medics for a couple days while he battles a severe chest infection and will consult with doctors again on Friday to see if he is well enough to perform on Saturday.
However, it is believed that if he deemed unfit by Friday he will sit out of this week’s show and return the following week if Anastacia remains on the show.
Since Strictly returned to our screens over a month ago, it has been rocked by a series of controversies.
Firstly, viewers were furious when Melvyn Odoom was booted off the show without being given the chance to compete against Brendan and Anastacia in a dance off.
Then the show was accused of racism after three non-white stars were voted-off the show by the judges and just last week Will Young unexpectedly quit the show.
Who knows what to expect next week, eh? We’re on the edge of our seats!
