Paddy McGuinness has shared his shock with fans after getting diagnosed with arthritis in his forties.
The Take Me Out host updated his Instagram followers on his health after he went to see doctors due to suffering from shoulder pain.
Sharing a selfie where he points to a large white plaster on his shoulder, Paddy writes: “Morning! Nursing a poorly shoulder today. I had an ultra sound steroid injection in it yesterday. The reason, arthritis? I’m 44!”

He added the hashtag #knackered.
Hundreds of the comedian’s fans said they hoped he felt better soon, with many reassuring him that it wasn’t uncommon to get the condition at his age.
“Feel your pain, same age have it in my fingers,” wrote one.
“Join the club Paddy both my shoulders have arthritis,” said another.

“It’s all good I’m 20 and have it, rest up,” a third wrote.
A fourth told the father-of-three: “I’m 39 and have it to, apparently it’s a common thing in men as we use our shoulders a lot in the gym, annoying hey….”
A fifth thanked him for sharing, as he’s also been suffering at 42 and “thought it was just me”.

Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation in a joint. While it’s often associated with the elderly, it affects people of all ages, including children.

Some of Paddy’s fans joked that it explained why Paddy missed a penalty when he played for England in Sunday’s Soccer Aid match.
“Here comes the excuses for that peno,” wrote one.
“That explains that penno Paddy!” said another.
“You were carrying an injury, that would explain the penalty on Sunday,” said a third.
Paddy’s England team went on to win the match despite his miss, to his delight.

He shared numerous pictures and videos on his Instagram of the team – made up of former footballers and celebs – celebrating.
The presenter was also delighted that the event, which was the brainchild of Robbie Williams, raised more than £5m for Unicef.
It’s not the first big charity fundraiser Paddy has been involved with this year.

In April, he and his wife Christine organised a ball which raised more than £100k for the National Autistic Society.

The couple are staunch supporters of the charity as their twins Leo and Penelope, aged four, have the condition and their 21-month-old daughter Felicity is also showing signs.
