Thankfully, her baby recovered from the frightening ordeal but Paloma has spoken out in shock about how she was treated by fellow patients while in hospital.

In an interview with The Sun, the former Voice UK coach – who has never confirmed the gender or name of her child – said she was stunned when a fan asked her for a photograph.

Recalling how she felt, Paloma revealed: “I’m actually a bit shell-shocked.

“My child stopped breathing for 30 seconds and I had to call an ambulance – passed out, lost consciousness and everything.

“I’m in A&E and someone was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ And that doesn’t feel fair.”

Paloma and her partner, French artist Leyman Lahcine, welcomed their first child together in December 2016.

The quirky singer announced their baby’s birth via a handwritten note, photographed and posted to Instagram.

But revealing it was not plain sailing, she said: “After a difficult birth resulting in an emergency caesarean I gave birth to my first child with whom I am over the moon, in love and delighted.

“What a trip!”

She added: “It was with all the help of some incredible doctors, midwives and nurses at UCH NHS Hospital.

“The devotion, kindness and commitment shown by all of them was second to none and I am humbled by the whole experience.

“I really believe the NHS to be one of the greatest achievements of this country and it should be respected and protected by all.”

Going into further detail about her traumatic birth, Paloma later told The Sun: “Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong.

“I had 20 hours of labour and a premature one and then I wasn’t dilating.

‘The baby was in jeopardy and so I had to have an emergency C-section… Then I had so much other stuff go wrong afterwards because I also had an infection afterwards of the womb.”
