Bridget Jones star Patrick Dempsey has revealed how he saved his once shattered marriage to wife Jillian.
When the Grey’s Anatomy hunk announced he was splitting from his makeup artist wife of 15 years, Jillian, in January 2015, he left fans shocked and amazed.
For the pair, who have children twin nine-year-old sons Sullivan and Darby and his daughter Tallula, 14, were once considered to have one of the most enduring relationships in Hollywood.
But this week in an interview with PEOPLE, the 50-year-old tells how the couple are back together after battling to save their marriage.
“Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of,” Dempsey tells PEOPLE.
“I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started.”
Patrick, who stars in Bridget Jones’s Baby, out September 16, admits how the the potential end of his marriage was “scary”
“It’s always destabilizing when you’re potentially breaking up a family or you have a big section of your life that’s ending,” he added.
And Patrick looked happier than ever with his stunning wife Jillian as they made their first red carpet appearance at the world premiere in Leicester Square on Tuesday since reconciling.
The 50-year-old looked dapper in a sharp, tailored suit as he proudly showed off his family.
Smiling for the cameras Patrick looked distinguished in the dark two-piece as she sported salt and pepper hair and a hint of stubble.
He posed alongside his gorgeous other half Jillian, who stunned in an elegant black column gown that skimmed her slim figure.
Showing off a sunkissed complexion and golden locks, she could barely contain her pride as she supported her husband at the long-awaited premiere – 12 years after the first film was released.
Their adorable sons looked pleased to be posing on the bright fuschia carpe and seemed to take after their dad in the style department, rocking a gingham shirt and spotted ties.
Meanwhile Tallula looked like a rising star in a simple and stylish black gown that featured a halterneck neckline.
Seeming to take after her mother, she beamed for the cameras at the lavish event at the Odeon cinema.
Jillian filed for divorce from from Patrick in January 2015 after 15 years of marriage, but by the end of the year, the two began dating again.
In May Patrick confirmed that the two had reconciled.
