Paul O’Grady has given up watching television and believes his health has already benefited.
The TV presenter, who hosts shows including Blind Date and For The Love Of Dogs, used to sit for hours watching soaps and documentaries, according to the Daily Star.
But the 62-year-old has now cut down on TV and claims even his doctor has noticed an improvement in his health.
He told the newspaper: “I used to have the telly on all the time and sit and watch all the soaps and shows, but not now.”

Paul added: “Those days are over. My health is better than ever for it too. My doctor even said that I am in much more perfect health, it’s given me a new lease of life.”
Paul has suffered with his health in the past, including two heart attacks.
And last year he was rushed to hospital in Delhi after falling seriously ill while filming scenes for ITV’s For The Love Of Dogs: India.
He had been in the country to film his wildly successful show last year, when he visited some local animals.
“They had been bitten by rats and there were maggots in them,” he told The Mirror.
“I must have touched my mouth with my hand and I started vomiting at five in the morning. The doctor was called and he said, ‘You’re so seriously dehydrated, you’re heading for renal failure’.
“Next thing I know I’m in an Indian hospital, not knowing what was going on and expecting the worst.”
Thankfully, he made a full recovery.

When asked by Best magazine if he’s still a huge Corrie fan, he said: “It was about working-class life in a little street, but now it’s like Syria! There used to be these wonderful vignettes in the Rovers – a conversation over nothing.
“The one they write well for is Mary. She’s fantastic. She delivers some off-the-wall lines beautiful!”
