Peter Andre has warned his fans to beware after online scammers have been pretending to be him to con people out of money.
The 46-year-old singer revealed that fake online accounts have been set up in his name to swindle innocent fans.
Pete said that the scammers have managed to swipe thousands of pounds from some people.
He explained in his New! magazine column: “I was alarmed to find out that scammers have been pretending to be me online in a bid to steal from people who follow me on social media.
“I only discovered this because one of their targets messaged to ask if I had requested her friendship on Facebook. Then another got in touch to say the people pretending to be me tried to get thousands of pounds out of her.”
More worryingly, the fakers told fans that Pete was going to be making appearances in certain places, when he wasn’t.
“They’ve also been messaging people saying I’m going to be at a certain place at a certain time when I’m not,” he added.
The star said the issue has now become a police matter and he begged fans not to reply to social media messages from Pete impostors asking for bank details. He urged followers to report any unusual online activity.
It’s not the only drama Pete has been dealing with lately.
His ex-wife Katie Price slammed him in an interview on Good Morning Britain yesterday, where she claimed he wouldn’t allow their children, Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, to appear on her reality show.
The 40-year-old, who was married to Pete from 2005 to 2009, branded him “selfish” and a “hypocrite” live on air.
The mum-of-five ranted: “He won’t allow me to film with them, he won’t allow me to do photoshoots with them and he’s been such a hypocrite but unfortunately these days you need both parents’ permission.
“I want to put it out there that he’s really selfish and the kids are missing out on it. I don’t know why he’s doing it.”
Pete’s representative told ED! they would not be commenting on Katie’s claims.

Amid all the drama, Pete, who also has Amelia, four, and Theo, two, with wife Emily Andre, has been focusing on his music tour.
He’s been busy traveling the country to celebrate 25 years in the music business.
