Peter Andre’s wife Emily has said she agrees with Holly Willoughby’s desire to keep her children out of the spotlight.
Emily, a qualified doctor, wrote in her new OK! Magazine column she understands why This Morning presenter Holly would prefer her three children to choose “normal jobs” over a life in showbiz.
“Holly Willoughby has said she doesn’t want her children to follow in her showbiz footsteps. If I had a choice, I would probably rather mine did a normal job, too,” admitted Emily.

“The only reason for that is if you don’t have a thick skin in the entertainment industry then it must be hard, because you hear a lot of negativity about yourself and your family.
“But as long as they’re happy I don’t mind what they do. As a parent you give them the tools and they can do what they want.”
Holly is mum to Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and Chester, four, with television producer husband Dan Baldwin.

In a recent interview with Daily Star’s TV Life magazine, Holly echoed those comments from Emily by saying: “By the time they go on to have careers I would hope that I’ve armed them with all the tools and knowledge they need and it’s for them to go out and make their own mistakes and learn their own things then.”
Emily, meanwhile, shares Amelia, four, and Theo, one, with popstar hubby Peter.
While Emily is keen for keep Amelia and Theo to pursue “normal” career paths, it might be a different story for Peter’s elder children.

The star has Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, with ex-wife Katie Price and has said both are interested in a showbiz future.
Junior is particularly eager to follow in his dad’s footsteps, having recently started a drama scholarship.
However, Peter has said he’s adamant Junior must finish school before pursuing fame.

He said on ITV’s Loose Women just yesterday: “Junior says that to me all the time, ‘I want to do this, I want to do that’. But the one thing I use from what my dad taught me is you can do it once you’ve finished school. I’ve got to make him finish school, I think that’s so important.
“Even when I got my recording contract, dad had to sign the contract because I wasn’t 18. He said, ‘you’re not allowed to do anything with him until he finishes school.’ I was so angry at my dad!”
When asked if he has any worries about Junior starting a career in the showbiz industry, Peter said: “Of course I do. We’re in a generation where kids see that prize at the top of the mountain but they don’t see the mountain.
“You have to climb that mountain and you’re going to fall a couple of times and when you finally get that prize, you hold on to it for dear life.”
Earlier this year, Peter said although his son’s got talent he doesn’t want to “push him into anything”.
He wrote in his New! magazine column: “The kid’s got talent and he practises every day, but I don’t want to push him into anything because the more he practises the better he’s going to get.
“He needs to concentrate on school right now. I know I sound strict but it’s with the best intentions.”
