On Wednesday’s This Morning, Holly Willoughby got a telling off from co-host Gino D’Acampo over her pronunciation skills – and Phillip Schofield stepped in to defend his best friend!
Things got hilarious when Holly and Phil joined their favourite chef for “Gino’s Easy Midweek Meal”, where Gino showed the pair how to make a ten-minute sausage tagliatelle dish.
Ahead of the cooking segment an hour into the show, Holly, 36, attempted to pronounce the type of pasta they would be making.
She said: “Gino will be making his quick and easy sausage and mushroom tagliatelle…”
Italian chef, Gino, 41, interrupted, shouting across the studio: “TAGLIATELLE! TAGLIATELLE! We’ve been doing this show for 13 years. It’s not tagliatel-ley, it’s tagliatel-le!”
Holly looked faux-wounded, replying: “Ugh, don’t come in and start…”
Phil, 55, then jumped in, saying sternly: “Back off my girl.”
A grateful Holly told Phil: “I love you”, as Phil – who had just been tasting rum in an earlier segment – added: “And I’ve had a drink as well, I’m a bit lairy!”
The group descended into giggles as Gino then held up a vegetable in a jokingly threatening manner and Phil told the camera: “He’s going to beat me with a leek.”
The joke seemed like a callback to an incident on Dancing On Ice earlier this month, when Phil was forced to defend Holly against judge Jason Gardiner.
When Jason was sassy with the DOI host, Phil said: “Don’t you snap at my girl! Don’t you snap at her!”
This is exactly why we love This Morning.

It comes after a big day of rum-tasting and royalty for the giggly pair.
They welcomed the future king onto their sofa, interviewing Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.
But before that, the award-winning presenters had a rum expert on the show, to offer advice on the top tipple of 2018.
The pair got a little tipsy, with Holly worrying: “We have royalty coming to the studio!”
Luckily for them, the royal interview was recorded off-air, to celebrate This Morning’s 30th anniversary, and will be shown on Thursday’s show.
Mum-of-three, Holly posted a picture of the chat on her Instagram, writing: “Well that was quite a morning! @thismorning by royal appointment… thank you to his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall for popping by…”
Fans were thrilled for the excitable pair, commenting: “Brilliant! What super guests to have x”. Another added: “What a great memory for both of you.”
A few more wondered what the future King was looking at in the pic, writing: “What’s Prince Charles staring at?!” And: “Charles was obviously admiring your fabulous shoes!”

Holly certainly looked lovely for the interview, posting a picture of her outfit on her Instagram on Wednesday morning.
She wore a Massimo Dutti dress – and the shoes that Prince Charles seemed so keen on are from Office…
So excited to watch this interview.
