The 54-year-old thought he was "falling into a sinkhole"

TV presenter Phillip Schofield revealed that he had a scary out-of-body experience while filming his new quiz show.

During an appearance on Lorraine, the TV host described the moment the LED floor folded beneath his feat.

He said it gave him the feeling of falling down a sink hole.

Phil was on the morning talk show to discuss his new quiz show where teams place gold rings on a supersized image below them.

Speaking to host Christine Bleakley, he said: “It scared the life out of me, it’s so good.

“I went into the studio, it’s the first time I’d seen the floor and they were showing me some of the things that it did.

“And then I went and stood in the middle of it, and I was talking to the crew.”

He added: “So I stood on the middle of this very, very posh floor, it has this effect that it folds in on itself and disappears.

“And as I’m standing on the floor it did it and I swear I thought I was going down a sink hole.

“I felt for real like I was going down a massive hole.”

On the new teatime quiz show, contestants will have the chance to win £25,000 as they fight against time.

Contestants will have to circle the correct answer on the floor.

The This Morning host said: “What’s different about this, everyone loves the Cube and says they can do it.

“But at home you can put your finger where you think the missing object is.

“It’s incredible how hard people find it. If you get a map of northern Europe and it says find Paris how hard can it be? But it proves to be really difficult.

“What appealed to me, easy to play at home, easy to understand.”

Five Gold Rings will air on ITV this Sunday at 6:40pm.
