TV stars Lord Alan Sugar and Piers Morgan have taken their rivalry to a new level – announcing a weigh-off, after the GMB host accused the Apprentice legend of gaining weight.
The pair came face to face with each other when Lord Sugar took a place on the sofa on Morgan’s ITV show Good Morning Britain.
They weighed themselves on live TV, with Lord Sugar coming in at 14st 3lbs, and Morgan at 16st 6lbs.
“How can a bloke who’s 4ft tall be 14 stone?” Morgan asked of Lord Sugar, saying that the Apprentice boss was almost “obese”.
“Get on there blubber boy,” Lord Sugar replied, pointing Morgan towards the scales.
Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid took a back seat as the pair bickered.
Lord Sugar said he had put on around 18lbs over the summer but told Morgan that he had seen him “prancing around” and that he looked “like a beached whale”.
The two agreed to see who can lose the most weight by December, with the loser donating £5,000 to Great Ormond Street.
Meanwhile, Loose Women host Janet Street Porter called on Lord Sugar to “strip off to your pants in support of our Body Stories campaign”.
But Lord Sugar replied: “I’ve got more chance of being struck by lightning.”
