Piers Morgan appeared on Australia’s Today Show this morning and laid into Meghan Markle.
Speaking to host Deborah Knight, the Good Morning Britain presenter revealed of the Duchess of Sussex: “Some people really like her and are falling for this act, but I’m afraid I see a bit of a hard-nosed actress who’s been using people on her way up to what is now, of course, the top – she’s married into the royal family.”
Piers, 53, met the former Suits star, 37, back in 2016 and the outspoken presenter said the pair developed a friendship. “I got to know her quite well over a two-year period. We would message each other a lot, email each other a lot,” he said of the royal, who is due to give birth to her first baby next month.

He added of the start of their friendship: “She said she was coming to London and said could we meet up, so we went to my local pub – I had a couple of pints of real ale, she had a couple of dirty martinis and we chewed the fat for a couple of hours.”
“Afterwards from her cab she said she had a great time and see you again, purely platonic I have to add, but she went in that cab that night to a party Prince Harry was at and the next night she went on a date with him and I never heard from her again, ever,” the host added.
Running the risk of sounding bitter after Meghan “ghosted” him, Piers continued: “I don’t like people who behave like that, it’s kind of rude, and it showed me that she is, I’m afraid, a social climber.”
The interview had started with a game of word association, where presenter Deborah threw famous names at Piers and he revealed the first thing that popped into his head.

“Prince Harry,” Deborah said. “Cheeky chappy, great guy, hugely popular in this country and recently got married to an old friend of mine who ditched me like a sack of potatoes the moment she met him,” Piers said.
“Are they really that bad?” Deborah asked. “Is Meghan really fake and a piece of work like you’ve said before?” “You know what,” Piers started, “I’m sorry to have to say this but I’m afraid I think she is.”
Signing off his interview, Piers had one final word of warning for father-to-be Prince Harry, 34. “Good luck to Harry, I hope he knows what he’s doing,” he said, adding: “But if it all goes wrong don’t come crying to me, I tried to warn you.”
In other Meghan news, it’s been reported that the Duchess wants Sir Elton John to teach their tot how to play the piano. “Meghan has been saying he would be the perfect person to teach their child the piano,” a royal source said.
Elton, a long-time friend of Prince Harry, who played four songs at the couple’s wedding reception, has apparently said he’d “love to”.
