Piers Morgan replaced by Jeremy Kyle on Good Morning Britain for the summer

The grass may just have been greener...

| Updated:

Controversial Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan said farewell to viewers yesterday as he prepared to head off on holiday, while co-host Susanna is also taking some time off.

But to take his place is another outspoken presenter who has his very own show on ITV.

It’s been revealed that Jeremy Kyle will take over presenting duties on the show starting August 7 for three weeks.

Speaking about his stint on the early morning show Jeremy, 52, said: “I’m really looking forward to being back on GMB this August to wake the nation up over the summer holidays.

“Now all I need to do is find my alarm clock!”

Jezza will co-host the show with Kate Garraway from Monday to Wednesdays.

Jeremy is no stranger to presenting the show and is already a favourite with fans on his own talk show, The Jeremy Kyle Show.

The star guest presented the show last year over the Easter holidays.

Starting next week (July 31) Eamonn Holmes will be making a return to the show alongside Charlotte Hawkins.

Eamonn, 57, stood in for Piers back in May over the Easter and definitely won over viewers.

The duo will host the show Monday to Wednesday and Kate and co-star Ben Shephard will take over duties on Thursday and Friday.

The Irish presenter is currently busy hosting ITV’s This Morning with wife Ruth Langsford while presenting duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are enjoying a summer break.

It’s believed that Richard Madeley, 61, will also present the show later on in August.

Speaking about hosting GMB for the first time Richard said: “I’ve known Piers for 30 years so sitting in for him on GMB is an excellent opportunity to gather some inside information on him which I will unhesitatingly use to wind him up afterwards.

“Seriously though, I’m looking forward to it immensely and after all those years on This Morning the early starts will seem like old times.”

The show’s favourites Piers and Susanna, 46, kicked off their summer holidays yesterday.

The pair seemed very happy on Wednesday’s show as they finished up presenting for five weeks.

But the two left fans speculating after Piers revealed it was their last show “possibly ever” leaving viewers worried.

He said: “It’s our last day before we break up for the summer.

“So last chance to see us, possibly ever.”

Hmm, not sure we’ll get rid of him that easily!

Later on in the show the star revealed he was only joking and will be returning to our screens in September.

Both have been definitely enjoying the holidays so far.

Susanna seemed to be relaxing as she shared a no-makeup selfie.

Uploading the snap to Instagram she wrote: “Bought some ‘Olivia glasses’ #LoveIsland. Think they’ll help me out on no-make-up days.”

Meanwhile Piers jetted off to the States as he shared a photo of a bottle of wine at a Beverly Hills’ restaurant – Via Alloro.

He told his fans: “I always spend my 1st night back in LA at @viaalloro.

“It’s run by a wonderful Sicilian family and never fails to deliver great food, service & wine. 👍#Italian #beverlyhills #LA.”

But fans seem to be missing him already!

One wrote: “Enjoy Piers and have a wonderful summer break! 😎🍷… and then hurry back please!! X.”

Another added: “GMB ain’t the same without u, hurry back!!! Enjoy ur vino.”

“Will miss you in the morning! Definitely not the same. Enjoy your break,” a third wrote.

Fans missing Piers? Never thought we’d see that!
