Piers Morgan has revealed his eldest son Spencer was hospitalised in Turkey after receiving a “small spider bite” during their holiday in Antigua.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, said the bite led to “one long week of near-Sepsis hell” for his son.
Piers, 53, took to Instagram on Friday to share a photo of Spencer, 25, lying in a hospital bed at the Letoon Hospital in Fethiye, a city in Turkey.

He didn’t explain why Spencer is currently in Turkey.
Piers wrote: “One small spider bite in Antigua.. led to one long week of near-Sepsis hell in Turkey.
“Many thanks to all the brilliant staff at Letoon Hospital in Kalkan for taking care of my eldest son @spencer__morgan so well. Thankfully now on road to recovery.”
Fans rushed to comment on the snap to wish Spencer a speedy recovery.
One person said: “One of the worst things to receive is a spider bite. Glad to hear he’s doing well.”
Another wrote: “Scary, all the best in recovery,” while a third commented: “Oh my word what a worry. Pleased he is in the mend.”
And it seems Spencer is in good spirits as he posted a photo of himself outside the hospital with his arms opened wide.
Carrying a bottle of water and sporting a bandage on his arm, Spencer captioned the post: “Scared of spiders? Am I [expletive] #ChristHasRisenAgain.”
He also took to his Instagram stories on Friday morning showing himself in his hospital bed watching a show on his laptop.
Spencer captioned the pic: “Day 6.”
Piers spent the end of his summer in Antigua with Spencer and his two other sons, Stanley, 21, and 17-year-old Bertie.
The family enjoyed relaxing on the beach, soaking up the sun on a yacht and spent a day snorkelling in the sea.
Spencer posted a couple of photos to his Instagram story showing the fun-filled day, including one of Piers sporting his snorkeling gear.
The pic sees Piers, who is also a dad to daughter Elise, six, putting his fist up to the camera while wearing goggles and a snorkel.
Spencer joked: “Serial killer on board.”
Spencer also took to Instagram to share a snap of himself and brother Bertie alongside a stingray at Strinray City, a tourist attraction in the Cayman Islands.
The photo sees Bertie jokingly pretending the fish had bitten his arm.
Spencer quipped: “Sure the brother lost an arm but sometimes we must make sacrifices for the gram.”
Reflecting on his tropical getaway with his boys, Piers shared a snap to Instagram showing himself with his arms around his three sons.
In the corner of the picture, the family’s suitcases can be seen as they enjoy a final boat trip around the Caribbean island.

The star captioned the post: “Another splendid lads’ holiday with my sons during which I dutifully delivered a series of inspiring & motivational paternal speeches – and they dutifully pretended to listen.”
Piers has since returned to hosting Good Morning Britain alongside his co-star Susanna Reid. It’s good to have the duo back!
