The controversial presenter shared a shot of the vandalised statue on Instagram.
The words “is a racist” had been sprayed on the plinth beneath the statue of the former prime minister.
Sharing his disgust, Piers wrote: “The Extinction Rebellion morons who defaced Churchill’s statue yesterday just guaranteed most people in Britain will want nothing to do with their cause.
“Another triumph for the ‘woke’ imbeciles.”

Piers’ followers were quick to agree, with wife Celia Walden also liking the post.
One raged: “No point being made at all! Just vandals!”
A second stated: “He may have been controversial but the things he did for our country. This is simply disgusting behaviour!”
Another added: “The irony of having the freedom to deface a statue of the man that gave them that freedom.”

What has Piers Morgan said about Churchill’s statue?
The recent demonstrations come months after the statue was defaced during the Black Lives Matter protests.
At the time, Piers hit out at protesters for writing graffiti on the statue, saying: “The bottom line with the Churchill statue is, if that is what you want the image to be from a protest about George Floyd.
“Then there’s something wrong with you.”
The GMB star also criticised the decision to boarder up the statue completely.
Piers and Holly clash on This Morning
Earlier this week, Piers and fellow ITV host Holly Willoughby clashed on This Morning.
The pair were discussing the Kardashians’ decision to the end of their hit reality show, which Piers showed little sympathy for.
However, Holly asked: “Why do you hate them? I have to say Piers you are particularly cruel. I always think this, you are really, really mean because they are human, they are people with feelings.”
Piers then fired back: “They are talentless wastrels who made billions by conning the world that there is something compelling about them.”
