Phillip Schofield has made Alison Hammond’s dreams come true by dropping to one knee!
The 56-year-old television icon jokingly popped the question to Alison, 43, at This Morning Live after she told the audience she’d like to get married.
It happened during a chat on the Birmingham NEC stage about tomorrow’s royal wedding.
This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby, 37, had been chatting about digging out her own wedding dress to wear to a royal wedding-themed party on Saturday.

That prompted Alison to shout out on stage: “I want to get married!”
Phil then dropped to one knee, which led Alison to say: “This is like every girl’s dream… Phillip Schofield going down on one knee. Yes! Yes!”
Alison added: “Can I just buy a dress. I want a dress to wear to a party!”
Oh course, it was all just banter.
Phillip is happily married to wife Stephanie and the couple just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
They have two daughters: Ruby and Molly.
Alison, meanwhile, tied the knot (er, kind of…) with Hollywood star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson back in December.
However, she joked on This Morning Live: “He’s a rubbish husband. He never calls, he never writes to me, he’s had another baby with someone else. He’s the worst.”
The good-natured actor jokingly proposed to Alison during an interview on This Morning earlier in the year, so when he was back in town to promote a new movie, Alison arranged a quickie ‘wedding’!
Alison arrived for the interview clad in a wedding gown, bringing along a fancy top hat for The Rock to wear.
They exchanged their “I dos” – well, Alison bellowed “YES!” when asked if she took The Rock as her ‘husband’ – and then shared that all important kiss. A kiss on the cheek, that is.
Of course, it was all just a bit of fun and The Rock’s in a relationship with Lauren Hashian.
The couple have two children: Jasmine and newborn Tia.
At the time, Phil had joked: “I’m gutted we weren’t invited to the wedding!”
Viewers also congratulated The Rock on being such a good sport to get involved – indeed!
This Morning Live is on at the NEC Birmingham until Sunday 20th May. Doors open 10am – 5pm daily. Tickets can be purchased online or from the ticket office.
