Katie Price has announced she will be running the London Marathon following her beloved mum Amy’s terminal lung condition diagnosis.
The former glamour model will take on the epic 26.2 mile challenge in April to raise money for the British Lung Foundation and enhance awareness of lung-related diseases.
She’s very close to her mother Amy and has spoken often about her heartbreak over Amy’s diagnosis with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis last year.
Katie, 38, told The Sun: “My mum means the world to me and the news of her diagnosis was a huge shock.

“Running 26 miles may seem like a big challenge, but it is nothing compared to what my mum and others living with IPF and other lung conditions go through every day.”
Amy told the newspaper she was “proud” of Katie’s efforts.
It won’t be the first time Katie has taken part in the London Marathon: she took on the gruelling race with now ex-husband Peter Andre back in 2009.
She completed the marathon despite later revealing she’d been in pain and suffering heartbreak over a miscarriage that happened just days before the race.
In her autobiography, You Only Live Once, she said: “I knew it wasn’t advisable to run the marathon in that condition but I’m such a trouper and I really didn’t want to let my sponsors or the charity down.
“But I did my best and put on an act that everything was okay.”
Despite the circumstances – and a nasty knee injury half-way through – she completed the 26.2 miles in just over seven hours.
She signed up for the 2011 marathon as well but was forced to pull out before the event after damaging her knee again during training.
Katie revealed her mum’s diagnosis during a joint appearance with Amy on Loose Women last year.
She later returned to the show by herself and broke down in tears while discussing Amy’s health battle.
Katie sobbed: “The thing is my mum is going to die and I don’t want her to die. She’s getting worse, she’s having to sell her house as she can’t get up the stairs.”

She struggled to speak through her tears, admitting at one stage she hadn’t seen her mum for weeks as she couldn’t face seeing her knowing one day she’d be gone.
“How can my mum die?” she sobbed, before walking off the set and not returning.
“I love my mum so much, I cannot do this.”
