Kerry Katona has admitted it took her nearly ten years to move on from her infamous This Morning interview, and has bravely revealed that at the time, she was so low she considered suicide.
The singer and mental health awareness advocate told The Daily Star: “It’s taken me 10 years from that This Morning interview where I was slurring my words due to my bipolar medication.
“I was that close to taking my own life because of that interview… because I was so judged for it.”
During the interview, host Fern Britton asked Kerry if she had been drinking, as the former Atomic Kitten star’s speech had been very slurred.
Kerry protested that she was completely fine, telling Fern and co-host Phillip Schofield that her medication made her drowsy, although she had been secretly battling Bipolar Disorder.

Viewers had also heavily criticised Kerry at the time in 2009, claiming she was drunk on air.
Kerry has also previously said she was taking Class A drugs, and described how she felt ‘lost’.
“I was in a really unhappy marriage. I was taking a lot of Class A drugs because I was depressed – I hold my hands up,” she said.
On watching the show back a decade on, Kerry, 37, added: “She looks so lost, I feel sorry for her…but she is out of that now.”
The Mum-of-five has completely turned her life around this year, and is not only showing off the results of her amazing physical transformation, but is now turning her hand to helping others speak out about struggling with mental illness.
She said: “Now I want to be the voice of mental health, so people don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed. We just need to talk to people.”
Kerry, who says she is now more aware of her ‘triggers’ and has worked with professionals to overcome them, shares motivational messages on social media, and warns people of the dangers of online trolling.
