Rio Ferdinand and his fiancé Kate Wright are no stranger to lavish holidays and the former England footballer was obviously missing the sunshine as he posted an adorable throwback snap to the Christmas holiday in Maldives of “his girls” on the beach.
Rio, 40, Kate, 27, and his daughter Tia, seven, posed in Santa hats and red swimming costumes on the bright white sands in the cute picture, which Rio captioned “#paradise with my girls”.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the picture with one writing: “Aww so nice your children have a lovely step mummy in their life’s.”
Just last month Rio shared another photo of his whole family on the beach during their Christmas trip, pulling a variety of impressive poses. His sons Lorenz, 12 and Tate, 10 showed off their handstands while Tia pulled off a crab pose.

Rio, who tragically lost his wife Rebecca Ellison in 2015 to breast cancer at the age of 34, has been dating the former TOWIE star since 2016. The footballer and TV presenter proposed to Kate in November last year, going down on one knee in Abu Dhabi in front of his three children.
However, the couple have faced criticism from trolls for their love of luxury holidays. After Rio posted a snap of the family enjoying dinner in a stunning location under water, Kate hit back at trolls who slammed their lifestyle. She wrote: “Money doesn’t make looking after three children that have lost their mum easier.
“Yes we can have nice holidays but money can’t bring back loved ones and heal grief.”
She continued: “Looking after children and caring for them comes from the heart, not from the bank.”

Kate has also admitted she suffers with crippling anxiety, confessing that “most days are a battle”.
In a long Instagram post about her mental health, she revealed: “One of my New Years resolutions is to accept myself, something I struggle with.
“Anyone that knows me well knows I suffer with bad anxiety & really struggle to love myself.
“Most days are a battle with what’s going on in my head,. I’ve sort of kept this stuff off social media as I’ve been scared to share it and the less I shared the most distant instagram is from my daily life… that’s going to change this year.
“I’m going to give more of the ups and downs, not just the fun times.”
