Corrie’s Rob Mallard appeared on This Morning to discuss his nomination for Best Newcomer as Daniel at next week’s National Television Awards.
But Phillip Schofield wasn’t letting him go, without pressing him on an upcoming storyline.
It’s been reported that troubled Daniel will have an affair with an older woman and there has been fierce speculation about who this will be.
Some rumours put his newspaper editor – who he already bedded over the summer – squarely in the (bed) frame.
But there have also been suggestions that his new lover will be – DRUM ROLL – Carla Connor.

Rob initially danced around the rumoured plot, after discussing Daniel and his ex, Sinead – revealing his belief that there is definitely unfinished business there.
However, he eventually confirmed the new love interest, as Phil grilled him.
“Maybe. An Older woman,” he teased. “She sees something missing in him, he sees something in her.”
Phil then jumped in and shouted: “It’s Carla Connor!”
Rob admitted: “Yeah it’s Carla. She is working her way through the Barlows!”
He added that he was pleased to see the speculation had already been well-received from fans online.
“I wasn’t too sure how it would go over but people seem keen,” the 25-year-old confirmed.
Rob was joined by Corrie co-star Lucy Fallon, who is also nominated for next week’s event.
She revealed that Bethany’s current lap-dancing storyline is an important part of the teenager’s journey – and recovery – after her awful abuse.
“It would have been unrealistic to just leave it, for her to just move on, to make her happy,” she reasoned.
“Whether the lap dancing is the right thing to do, it’s her journey, she has to go through it.”
