Roxanne Pallett’s social media accounts deleted and Wikipedia vandalised

Some viewers have called for her to be evicted next

Roxanne Pallett’s social media accounts have been closed down and Wikipedia page vandalised after her Celebrity Big Brother claims against Ryan Thomas.

The former Emmerdale actress, 35, made headlines on Thursday night’s episode of CBB when she accused Coronation Street’s Ryan, 34, of punching her during what some viewers have called a play fight.

She tearfully claimed Ryan had been ‘violent’ and said she felt ‘uncomfortable’ sleeping in the same bedroom as him.

Ryan insisted there had been no anger or malice in his actions and apologised, after being given a formal warning by Big Brother.

Since then, a stream of soap stars and celebrities have come out to back Ryan, suggesting that he was just being playful and Roxanne overreacted.

As the furore continues, both Roxanne’s Twitter and Instagram accounts have been shut down, while her fiancé Lee Walton’s Instagram is also offline and his Twitter account has been set to private.

Roxanne’s Wikipedia page was also briefly vandalised to include a now-deleted line calling her a “pathetic human being”.

The page is now back to normal.

Some of Ryan’s loved ones and Corrie co-stars have called for Roxanne to be evicted from the house next.

His girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh, sister-in-law Caroline Thomas and Corrie’s Kym Marsh are among those who want Roxanne out.

Kym tweeted: “I have been lucky enough to call Ryan my friend for many years now and I am horrified at what happened on last night’s CBB. How can someone get away with clearly manipulating a situation and attempting to tarnish someone’s name!! Get her out!”

Other soap stars including Brooke Vincent, Charley Webb, Simon Gregson, Hayley Tamaddon, Georgia May Foote, Samia Longchambon and Danny Miller have also backed Ryan.

Meanwhile, Ryan’s brothers Adam and Scott Thomas have both shared their outrage over the situation, with Scott saying it was “blatant harmless play fighting”.

However, other viewers have said it’s wrong to criticise Roxanne if she genuinely felt upset and uncomfortable by the situation.

Others said they could understand why Roxanne may have been upset, but felt giving Ryan a formal warning was a step too far.

A rep for Roxanne told ED! in a statement: “Roxanne has no contact with the outside world to make her own statement, however we do know that Roxanne has worked closely with various domestic violence charities due to being a victim of domestic violence herself.

“She would be very upset to find out she may have caused offence to others who have been through the same.

“We can’t make any more comment at present until such time as Roxanne is out of the Big Brother house and is able to address this situation herself.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues on Channel 5.
