Royal fans have heaped praise on Princess Anne after the Queen’s daughter appeared to ‘snub’ Donald Trump in a clip of the family meeting the US president.
In the video, Queen Elizabeth II stands alongside Prince Charles and Camilla as they smile and shake hands with Trump and the First Lady Melania.
To the left of the screen, Princess Anne hovers in a doorway watching the greetings.

The Queen is then seen gesturing with her hand to Anne, who merely looks at her mother, shrugs her shoulders and lifts her hands.
The odd moment quickly went viral on social media, with many Twitter users praising Princess Anne for what they took to be a jab aimed at Donald Trump.
One Twitter user said: “Princess Anne has never suffered fools. Why should she start now?”
The one member of the Windsor family I admire for having principles.
Another wrote simply: “Love you, Princess Anne xxx.”
A third tweeted: “Princess Anne should be queen when the QEII dies. I believe it is the will of @TheTweetOfGod.”
A fourth said: “Princess Anne (floral dress, black blazer) doesn’t stand in the receiving line for Trump and Melania, but stands off to the side whispering about it and when the Queen looks over to ask her about it she just shrugs. So good.”

Princess Anne has always been a bit of a legend. She was almost kidnapped at gunpoint in the 70s and when told to get out of the car by the would-be-kidnapper she replied: "Not bloody likely!", and reportedly briefly considered hitting him.

Princess Anne’s departure from Royal protocol in the meeting with Trump follows a turbulent year for the Queen and her family.
In the spring, her husband Prince Philip was embroiled in controversy after flipping his car in a collision with another vehicle near the Sandringham estate. The person behind the wheel of the other car was later banned from driving.

Similarly, the Queen’s cousin the Duke of Kent was reportedly involved in a car crash in Brighton not long after.
Then over the summer, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were widely criticised for their use of private jets, which some thought clashed with their support for environmental causes.
And more recently, the Queen’s favourite son Prince Andrew was forced to step back from royal duties over his friendship with billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
