The Loose Women presenter posted a video of herself with the extensions before they were put in, explaining in the caption why she had decided to get them.

“Trying out Tape hair extensions with @thekindagiirlyoulike @leobancroft_hair today,” she said.

“Menopause has made my hair a bit thin so we’re adding a few, fine extensions to thicken out the bottom #hairextensions #thickerhair”

She then documented the process on Instagram stories, showing how the extensions are inserted.

She showed the hairdresser inserting the extensions – two on each side – before joking around with the long hair she was left with.

She then showed the extensions being trimmed to blend in with her natural hair.

After the procedure was finished, she posted a video of the final result – saying the entire process only took around twenty minutes.

Thinning hair is a common side effect of menopause, as the growth of hair slows with age. In rare cases, this can extend to female pattern hair loss – which leaves large areas of the head free from hair.
