It looks like Pat Phelan’s reign of terror in Coronation Street could be over soon.
With just about everyone in the Street suspicious of him, and the development at the mill site threatening to expose the bodies he’s hidden, it seems we might be rid of Corrie’s latest baddie sooner rather than later.
But there’s already someone else lining up to take his place!
Ryan Clayton, who plays newcomer Josh Tucker, has hinted his dark alter-ego could be the newest Corrie nasty.
In Friday’s episode viewers saw another side to friendly Josh’s character when he and David beat up drug dealer Lee Mayhew.
David wanted to get rid of the lad who’d kidnapped and terrified his sister Sarah a couple of years ago.
But Josh seemed to enjoy the whole thing just a bit too much.
And viewers already know that he’s rumoured to be the character who will rape his new friend David after a night out.

He’s definitely got the credentials to be another Phelan.
This week, Ryan hinted on Twitter that he could stick around.

When a fan said they were loving Josh and wanted him to be a regular character, Ryan replied: “Well we all know how Phelan started, 3 years later…”
With the Phelan story having gripped us and bored us in equal measure, we’re not sure how we feel about the prospect of another evil character holding the Street to ransom.
But we’re definitely loving new arrival Josh – so far!
