Rylan Clark-Neal lands “dream” new TV job at Eurovision semi-finals

He's going to dig out his best Union Jack Spice Girls jacket!

Rylan Clark-Neal has been added to the UK’s Eurovision 2018 commentary team.

The television presenter, 29, will join BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills in commentating on the two live semi-finals from Lisbon.

He said it’s a dream job, given his love of the singing competition.

Rylan previously served as a guest panellist on BBC2’s Eurovision: You Decide earlier this year, where SuRie was voted in as the UK’s act for 2018.

He said: “After an amazing evening at Eurovision: You Decide, I’m absolutely thrilled to be saying I can’t wait to join the Eurovision family and host the semi-finals alongside Scott for the UK this year.

“As a massive fan of Eurovision I’ve already cracked out my Union Jack Spice Girl jacket and am packed and primed and ready to take on Lisbon.

“SuRie was great this year and I can’t wait to watch her represent us.”

Scott added: “Eurovision is always the highlight of my year and I am truly excited that I’ll be presenting with fellow Eurovision fan, Rylan.”

Graham Norton will return once again to commentate on the live final, while former Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc will be on screen revealing what points the UK has given the other competitors.

This is just the latest TV job to add to Rylan’s busy CV.

He’s about to return to This Morning after taking a break from his showbiz correspondent role; he and Emma Willis will present the programme next week while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are on their Easter break.

The star also hosts Big Brother’s spinoff show, Bit On The Side, Celebrity Ghost Hunt and The Wave.

Rylan also confirmed his Eurovision job on Twitter, saying it was a “dream come true.”

Fans told Rylan they were excited for him and would be tuning in when the semi-finals air on BBC Four on May 8 and May 10.
