After three of months of social media silence, sacked Coronation Street star Bruno Langley has taken to Twitter to wish his followers Happy New Year.
The actor, who played Tom Grimshaw on the soap, was fired in October after he was accused of sexual assault.

In October, a woman complained to ITV that on a night out in Manchester, Bruno had harassed and groped her and, after an internal investigation, the actor was fired.
He was charged with two counts of sexual assault, and after pleading guilty, sentenced to twelve-month community order, as well as rehab, and compensation to his victim.
After the accusations were made public, Bruno stayed away from social media, with his most recent post left as a picture of his cat from September.
The image was captioned “It’s not weekend yet. #workshy”
But he returned to Twitter to celebrate the holiday season, tweeting out good wishes for his fans.
“I Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, and I wish you all the very best for the very impending 2018 ✌️x,” the tweet read.
His tweet was received warmly by his followers, with many mentioning that he is missed on Coronation Street.
“Happy New Year Bruno, missing you on Corrie, hope you return one day everyone deserves a second chance xx,” one fan tweeted, while another said “U too mate – positive thoughts 👍🏼”
“Happy New Year. I hope this year is better for you. I would love you to come back to corrie,” another fan replied.
Bruno opened up about the assaults in December, in an interview with the Sunday Mirror.
“I have no excuse, no one forced me to drink to such an extreme, but it is hard to explain why I would do anything as dreadful as that,” the actor said. “It must have been awful for those women, and I am ashamed of myself. I’m truly sorry.
“To treat women in the way I did is truly shocking. No one should be subjected to that. I was horrified when I heard what I’d done. My behaviour was dreadful. I’m so sorry for what has happened. I’ve been on a downward spiral for some time but only this made me realise it.”
The actor claimed that the incident was a wake up call after months of hard drinking, and has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings ever since.

Bruno’s Coronation Street character Todd was hastily written out of the soap and viewers saw him flee with adoptive daughter Summer over Christmas.
