Sarah Harding’s passionate (and somewhat illicit) romance with Chad Johnson in the Celebrity Big Brother house had us hooked all summer.
But sadly she’s now confirmed those ongoing rumours that things between them are now OVER.
In a statement released late Wednesday, the Girls Aloud star said, yes, the couple have broken up – and explained just why things didn’t work out between them.
She said: “It is with sadness that I can now confirm my relationship with Chad is over.
“The distance has proved too much of an obstacle even though we both tried to make it work.

“I wish him all the best for the future and thank him for the memories we shared during a very interesting summer.”
Interesting is a bit of an understatement…
Sarah entered the CBB house in a relationship but quickly fell for US reality star Chad, best known for his appearance on dating show The Bachelorette.
A stolen kiss in the kitchen quickly turned into a full-blown romance, with Chad even asking Sarah to go official while they were cooped up inside the famous compound.
They raised eyebrows by getting a bit frisky under the bed covers in the communal bedroom, but Sarah was quick to deny having sex on TV.
“People love to twist everything. I still haven’t had sex with the guy. I swear,” she said when quizzed by housemates.
“We were just having a feel.”
While Sarah lives in the UK and Chad lives in Los Angeles, they gave their romance a good go, with Sarah jetting over to visit Chad in America at the end of September.
It initially seemed they were going to make things work, as they batted off constant rumours of a split.
But, sadly, it wasn’t meant to be.
While Sarah has confirmed the split via a statement, she hasn’t done that usual celebrity break-up thing of deleting all traces of Chad from her social media accounts.
A post from October 16 on Instagram shows Sarah cuddling up to Chad’s beloved dog and features the caption: “Missing this lil laydee …not to mention her daddy.”
Sarah has plenty to keep her occupied post-split, however, as she’s been back in the recording studio working on new music.

She’s posted a string of photos in recent weeks showing her in the studio, teasing fans that she’s working on a follow-up to 2015 single, Threads.
Speaking to Daily Star last month, she said: “I am doing a new album. All I have done in LA is eat, sing and meetings.
“I’m coming up with new stuff… it’s going to be better than Threads.”
