Sarah Harding died in September last year from breast cancer, but not before leaving behind a very important message.
The star’s tragic death prompted many women to check for signs of breast cancer and seek help from their doctors.
One such woman was Sarah‘s best friend’s mother, who credits the singer with saving her life.
What did Sarah Harding’s friend say?
Sarah’s childhood best friend Joanne and her mum Jean have thanked the star for raising awareness of signs of breast cancer.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Jean said: “Sarah has shown she is the best fairy godmother ever. She has saved the life of her godchildren’s grandma [Sarah was godmother to Joanne’s children].

The 67 year old went on to describe how, after Sarah’s death, it prompted her to think about a lump she had in her armpit for nearly a year.
As a result of visiting her doctor, she was referred for tests.
I wish I could thank Sarah.
Doctors discovered Jean had aggressive breast cancer and performed a mastectomy last month, which is believed to have saved her life.
As a result, Jean is hoping to receive the all-clear from doctors soon.
Jean said: “I was told if I had left it much longer it would have spread into the lymph nodes and I would have had much less chance of survival.”
Additionally, She said: “I wish I could thank Sarah. I hope that my story will help push other people to get themselves checked out as well.”
