As she marks a year of being single, Kerry Katona says she’s now ready to move on to husband number four, after joking that her career is drying up due to her lack of dates.
The former Atomic Kitten singer has been single for 12 months after splitting with husband George Kay – with whom she shares four-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge – but their divorce was only finalised last month.
Kerry, 37, joked to the The Daily Star online: “I’m on the lookout for husband number four before my career seizes up as, let’s be honest, if I didn’t get married or divorced I wouldn’t have a career!”
But the mum-of-five, who has recently undergone an incredible fitness transformation, insisted she was happy being a single lady.
She added: “I am actually really happy on my own but I wouldn’t mind going on a few dates and getting back out there.”
After admitting that online dating hadn’t worked out for her, Kerry said she’s on the lookout for a man who can ‘make me laugh…laugh my knickers off.’
Kerry has been famously ‘unlucky-in-love’. She split with first husband, Westlife’s Brian McFadden, in 2006 after four years of marriage.
She later married taxi driver Mark Croft in 2007. They divorced in 2010 and he admitted to squandering her £6 million fortune on expensive cars.
The couple were later reportedly embroiled in a custody battle over their children Heidi, 11, and ten-year-old Max.
The singer then moved on with third husband George Kay, and described splitting with last year as ‘like a death’.
She told OK! Magazine: “I really struggled at first, because he was with me 24/7 and it was like a death.”
Kerry also revealed there were times she wanted to cry as she struggled with being a single mum to five children.
“Being a single mum, there are times I just want to sit up in my bathroom and cry and give up, but I always get up. I needed to get back to the person I was when I was last single, and that’s who I am now.”
And Kerry is looking better than ever, after putting plenty of hours in at the gym to help with her Bipolar Disorder and to get into shape.
Along with posting several revealing snaps on Instagram, Kerry also shares inspiring quotes with her fans.
She recently reposted the quote: “Learning to be alone, and enjoying it, is the most empowering gift you can give yourself.”
We doubt you’ll be alone for long, Kerry!
