Sex and the City star brands Piers Morgan ‘nasty’ in Facebook rant

Get out your popcorn...

You’ve probably heard by now that Sex and the City 3 ain’t ever gonna happen.

And bizarrely, it’s Piers Morgan who has now been caught in the middle. Yup. Who ever thought you’d hear Piers Morgan and Sex in the City in the same sentence?

Let’s rewind and explain just what happened…

But be warned: it’s a tad confusing.

Essentially it all started when reports started circulating that Kim Cattrall – aka Samantha Jones – had made a string of alleged diva demands just weeks before Sex and the City 3 was due to start filming.

It was claimed those demands had led to the film being cancelled and her co-stars left devastated.

Kim, however, denied that was true and tweeted out: “The only ‘DEMAND’ I ever made was that I didn’t want to do a 3rd film….& that was back in 2016.”

She also threw shade at the rather dismal SATC 2, replying “preach” when one fan tweeted: “Let Kim be. She doesn’t owe fans a third movie. The second was terrible as it was. And her projects since have been great!”

SATC co-star Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw, obvs) confirmed to Extra that a third movie would NOT happen but didn’t give any reasons why.

She only said: “We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story.

“It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

Kim, meanwhile, sat down for a chat with Piers Morgan for his new Life Stories series, hence the reason he’s been involved in all the drama.

According to Daily Mail, she candidly claimed none of her former SATC co-stars reached out to her when rumours circulated that she’d held up production with diva demands.

“That’s not what happened here, this is, it feels, like a toxic relationship,” said Kim.

Ouch.

Kim then took a direct swipe at SJP by saying: “At this very moment it’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva.

“And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer.”

So far Sarah hasn’t responded to Kim’s comments, but her other SATC co-stars haven’t been as restrained.

Evan Handler, who played Charlotte’s husband Harry, took to Facebook to aim his criticism at both Kim and Piers…

Posting a link to an article blaming Kim for holding up production, he said: “I’d assumed that this, like everything surrounding ‘Sex and the City,’ was something I wasn’t supposed to talk about.

“But now it seems that others are. So, yes… I was suddenly contacted, just two or three months ago, and told that a third movie was definitely happening.

“I was astonished, but delighted. Then, less than three weeks later, that ‘they are pulling the plug,’ and it was not to be. Suddenly the story seems to be everywhere.

“You can reach your own conclusions.”

Evan went on to describe Piers as “nasty” – ouch, harsh – and pointed out he’d “argued openly with [Piers] about far more serious matters months before his recent interview pushed this story into view”.

“So, I’d be cautious about buying into whatever’s being sold on his show,” he added.

Of course, Piers was quick to respond and defend himself, simply tweeting back: “Oh pipe down, you spiteful little man.”

Meanwhile, another SATC star, Stanford – aka Willie Garson – also waded into the drama by tweeting: “Dear fans, because I’m ‘toxic’, I’m going to negotiate a contract for 6 months, not come to terms, then say I never wanted to do it anyway.”

Naturally, Piers had something to say about that too, replying: “Get over it, you ridiculous twerp. Kim just doesn’t want to do the movie & after little tweets like this, who can blame her?”

So much drama…
