Sheridan Smith is “lucky to be alive” after she was involved in an accident that saw her car crash into a tree at high-speed on Sunday night (November 29).
The 40-year-old’s car swerved off the road due to bad weather caused by Storm Arwen.
What happened to Sheridan Smith?
The TV star was just 600 yards from her own home in Essex when the accident happened. While Sheridan was driving along a narrow country lane, her £100,000 Range Rover swerved off the road as Storm Arwen caused havoc.
The car then smashed into a tree at high speed, leaving Sheridan “lucky to be alive”. With many of the higher branches of the tree showing damage, it’s believed that Sheridan’s car was airborne before it crashed.

Police have said that they spoke to the 40-year-old mum of one and her boyfriend about the incident. They also confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident and no crime had been committed.
Lucky to be alive
Her neighbour went on to say: “She had cuts and bruises, but it could have been fatal, she was incredibly lucky. It was a brand new Range Rover, she hadn’t had it long. It’s almost a miracle she’s not hurt herself more.”
It was reported that Sheridan’s crash was enough to snap a large branch off of the tree. A local farmer also reportedly had to help police get to the scene of the crash by cutting down parts of another tree.
It is believed that a combination of incredibly icy conditions and 60mph winds caused by Storm Arwen were the biggest contributing factors behind Sheridan’s crash.
Sheridan was reportedly not breathalysed after the crash by police, and it is being treated as an accident.
