Emmerdale bosses are recasting Cain Dingle – but only in special flashback scenes.
The scenes will see a brand new actor play the village badboy as the show delves into his unhappy childhood history with mum Faith Dingle, who will also be played by a new actress for the flashbacks.
“Everyone likes a bit of Cain Dingle,” a source told The Daily Star Sunday.
“He’s that brooding bad boy and, despite everything he’s done, the fans still love him.

“With Faith being back in the village it gave the writers the opportunity to delve deeper into his character to try to understand why his relationship with his mum is the way it is.
“We know that Faith walked out on her children when they were little but we don’t know much about his childhood.
“The scenes are not to be missed.”
Actor Jeff Hordley has played Cain since he arrived in the village in 2000 and will continue to play him after the flashback scenes, so fans shouldn’t worry.
