Simon Cowell ‘urged to give up big boys toys after breaking his back’

Time to put the bike away, Simon!

Simon Cowell has reportedly ‘agreed’ to ‘give up’ the electric bike that caused him to break his back.

The X Factor music mogul, 60, has apparently responded to pleas from his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, after falling off the bike and incurring horrific injuries.

What did Lauren Silverman say to Simon Cowell?

The Sun reports that Simon has given into Lauren’s wishes after she ‘pleaded’ with him to stop riding it.

The newspaper quotes a source, who said: “Lauren doesn’t want him to ride one of those bikes again, so he’s agreed with his friends and family to get rid of them as soon as he’s out of hospital.

“The power of the bike was unbelievable when he changed the setting up to the second one. The bike just flew into the air.

“Thankfully he let go of the bike as he fell backwards and it didn’t land on him.”

It was also claimed that Lauren, 43, is visiting her husband daily as he recovers and has also insisted that he not return to work until he’s fully recovered.

Ent Daily has contacted reps for Simon for comment.

Simon, a fan of “big boys toys” like fast cars and jet skis, is also being urged to take things easier and dump the dangerous gadgets.

What happened during the accident?

Simon was testing his new electric bike in Malibu, California last Saturday (August 8th).

The Swind bike reportedly cost £15,000 and reaches a maximum speed of 60mph.

He admitted that he did “not read the instructions [or] understood the [bike’s] capabilities”.

After being rushed to hospital, he was said to be “doing fine” and that he was “under observation”.

Simon Cowell says thank you

In an Instagram post, Simon paid tribute to the nurses who were looking after him during his recovery and also thanks fans for their messages of support.

He said: “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.

“I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.
