X Factor boss Simon Cowell has announced he will be releasing a charity single to raise funds for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire that took place earlier this week.
The star admitted that the tragedy affected him so much he wanted to do something to help those effected.
Simon, 57, appealed to all singers around the world to take part in recording.

Writing on Twitter to his 12.7 million followers Simon wrote: “I am watching the footage of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. Heartbreaking.
“We hope to confirm a record tomorrow which will raise some money for the many people affected by this tragedy. Making calls tonight.”
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain Simon told viewers: “I’m not just going to sit here and do nothing. For me in my position and to not do something would be appalling.
“I wrote to all the record labels and I said let’s all work together and I hope it will prick a few people’s consciousness and it might spur someone on to do something else.”
He went on to say: “We can do more than just a record. We will record it hopefully Sunday at the latest Monday.
“People who can’t make it physically to the studio we can record their vocals wherever they are in the world.
“The song [choice] is important because it has to be sincere, it has to have the right message, it has to mean something to the people affected. I genuinely believe it will make a difference.”
He also explained that he would love for worldwide star Adele, who visited and comforted the families, to get involved.
He said: “I would love to get Adele involved, after she did what she did.”
Speaking about the heartbreaking incident Simon said: “I was watching the news and then I drove up to see the building which is around the corner. I’ve seen a lot of bad things and not far from where I was sitting.
“It dawned on you. It sent chills through you. What hit home was seeing that wall and seeing all those messages.
“I saw how residents turned up with water and clothes and that’s when I thought I’m not going to sit here and do nothing.”

Huge flames ripped through the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block throughout the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It was reported that 200 firefighters were on the scene to try and put the blaze out.
At least 17 has been confirmed dead in the awful tragedy.
Residents described the horiffic scenes they saw following the incident.
Locals explained that they saw “people jumping from windows” and parents “throwing their children to safety”.
