Simon Cowell underwent a ‘five-hour surgery’ after breaking his back just a week ago.
And a close friend of the music mogul, 60, says he is already back at home and working from his bedside.
The source told People magazine that Simon is “very happy to be back home with his family and the fresh sea air”.
Simon lives with his partner Lauren Silverman, 43, and their son Eric, six.

A well known workaholic, Simon is apparently already working again, albeit from bed.
They added: “He’s been doing some work already this week but he also knows he needs to give his back time to heal properly from the surgery.”

Despite breaking his back in three places, he is reportedly already able to walk and is astounding doctors on his swift recovery.
The source continued: “He’s been able to walk quite a lot and quicker than the experts had expected him to do after this type of major surgery, which is a great sign for the healing coming along well.”
What has Simon Cowell said about his accident?
Simon suffered the severe injuries last Sunday after falling off his electric bike.
He took to Instagram to thank his medical team and explain his accident.
Addressing his some 1.7 million followers, he wrote: “Some good advice…If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.

“I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.
“And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Another report says that Simon is trying to boost his healing process by surrounding himself with crystals.
A source told The Sun: “Two of his friends had searched out and delivered some powerful healing energy crystals which he has with him.”
The freak accident has forced him to pull out a week’s worth of recordings for America’s Got Talent.
He is apparently “desperate” to get back on set and return to work as normal.
The source added: “He’s in good spirits and his back is well on the mend.”
