If you’re ever in need a loan, you’d do worse than to ask singer Ed Sheeran for a tenner.
The 28-year-old Shape Of You singer paid himself a whopping £17.1 million last year.
And, if you’re sitting down, that equates to about £47,000 a day.
Yes, it appears life is good for Ed, who married his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn in a top-secret winter wedding last year.

Ed Sheeran Limited, one of the singer’s companies, turned over £32,645,445 in 2018, with pre-tax profits of £23,770,262.
While his £4.5m tax bill took away a sizeable chunk, Ed still had the funds to open his own pub in London’s trendy Notting Hill last month.

And he’s currently in the process of buying his entire village in Suffolk.
However, it’s not all good news for the star as his profits are down £4m on 2017.
In the financial reported, dated December 31 2018, Ed states: “The performance of the company is measured by reference to turnover and the level of artist activity.”

It added: “Revenue during the year remained stable on the prior year due to the continued exploitation of music recording and songwriting.”
Looking forward, it said: “The company’s turnover is expected to remain strong but it will be dependent on the artist’s continued success.”

However, after his mammoth Divide world tour came to an end in the summer, Ed announced a temporary hiatus from performing.
So will his profits take a hit in the 2020 report?
He said: “I’ve been on the Divide tour for over two years now and this is the last day of the whole thing. There is something very bittersweet about it.”
He added: “This is my last gig for probably 18 months.”
Perhaps he’ll spend his free time updating his cats’ Instagram account!
