Sir Roger Moore, best known for playing James Bond, died back in 2017 at the age of 89.
At the time, his children – Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian – posted onto his Twitter page a statement breaking the news of their father’s death.
Death of Bond star Roger Moore announced
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer,” it read, announcing his cause of death.
“The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.
“We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world, by people who knew him for his films, his television shows and his passionate work for UNICEF, which he considered to be his greatest achievement.
“The affection our father felt whenever he walked on to a stage or in front of a camera buoyed him hugely and kept him busy working into his 90th year.”

The statement ended with the sweet message: “Thank you Pops for being you, and for being so very special to so many people.”
A private funeral was held in Monaco – something the iconic actor, on screen in Octopussy this weekend (September 1), requested.
His film legacy
Moore was the third actor to play Bond after Sean Connery and George Lazenby. He made his debut in Live and Let Die in 1973. He was the longest serving Bond to date, featuring in seven films.
Among his well-known outings as 007 were Octopussy and The Man With The Golden Gun.
He was married four times. Moore wed his surviving wife, Kristina Tholstrup, in 2002.
As well as Bond, he starred in TV series The Saint and The Persuaders. He was also a passionate supporter of UNICEF.
Octopussy is on Sunday September 1 on ITV1 at 2.15pm.
