Lionel Richie’s daughter Sofia Richie has lost a lot of weight in recent months after welcoming her first child.
She has proudly announced she has “lost 50 pounds” since childbirth during an episode of the Therapuss podcast, hosted by her friend Jake Shane.
Her daughter Eloise Samantha is almost six months old. She was born on May 20, 2024, which Sofia said was the “best day of my life”.
The 26-year-old model updated her fans and followers regularly throughout her pregnancy and has done through the first few months of motherhood. She has 11 million followers on Instagram.

Sofia Richie, daughter of songwriting legend Lionel Richie, appeared on a new episode of the Therapuss podcast this week. During it, she opened up about life as a mother.
Asked for her first impressions of motherhood, Sofia said bluntly her “life makes sense now”.
“I’ve never loved anything more in my life,” she added. “I’m obsessed with her, she’s perfect. And I’ve lost 50 pounds.”
This last comment got an uproarious response from podcast host Jake.
For those who are more familiar with the metric system, 50lbs is roughly equal to 23kg. Or… three and a half stone.

Later in the episode, Sofia goes on to relate her feelings towards pregnancy, weight gain (and subsequent loss), and the feeling of empowerment she enjoyed throughout the process.
“I did weekly update photos,” she said. “Every Monday. I could, like, watch myself expand. It was cute until it wasn’t.
“It was beautiful. This is the thing, I always tell my friends. I’m like, ‘Oh, it got crazy.’ But I was always empowered. The entire way. I was like, ‘I am unbelievable that I can do this.'”
She said she also gained 60lbs along the way.
After giving birth to Eloise Samantha in May, Sofia admitted she “didn’t leave the house”. She said she didn’t even realise that summer had happened. It “didn’t happen in my mind,” she added.
She quipped: “I had my mum’s summer.”

Sofia announced her engagement to Elliot Grainge on Instagram in April 2022.
They tied the knot in April 2023, but not before Sofia converted to Judaism. Elliot is a British record executive. He was raised Jewish and moved to the US in 2009.
He grew up as a music industry insider. His father is the chief executive of Universal Music Group.
Elliot started an independent record label called 10K Projects in 2016, in Los Angeles. It has signed rappers Tekashi 6ix9ine and Iann Dior, beach pop band Surfaces, and breakout star Ice Spice.
Sofia described her conversion to Judaism as “magical” and “one of the best experiences of my life” in an Instagram story, according to reports.
