Spencer Matthews has revealed he had the date of his proposal etched inside his fiancée Vogue Williams’ engagement ring.
The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star admitted it was a “confident” move given any number of things could have happened to postpone the date of the engagement.
And something very nearly DID happen!
Spencer told Hello! magazine that Vogue wasn’t well on the day he’d planned to pop the question on stage at The Lion King in London – but he told her they were going regardless!

He designed the gorgeous ring himself and got down on one knee on January 30.
“Vogue is fascinated by bridges and architecture so I designed it to look like a bridge,” he said.
“And it was a slightly confident move, I suppose, engraving the date of the engagement into the ring, especially because Vogue had asked on the morning of The Lion King if we could reschedule because she didn’t feel well.
“And I was like, nope, we’re going!”

Spencer got down on one knee on the stage at the Lyceum Theatre and Vogue (of course!) said yes!
She told the mag: “He forgot to give me the ring. He closed the box and took it back and I was like, ‘Erm, I think that’s meant to be mine!'”
As well as planning a wedding, the couple are also expecting a baby!
They announced their happy news earlier this week.
Former Made In Chelsea star Spencer said on Instagram: “So… I’m going to be a father! Couldn’t be happier to be sharing these times with the love of my life @voguewilliams. We feel truly blessed ❤.”
Vogue said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby! Being with you @spencermatthews is the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are the dream.”
The couple met on Channel 4’s The Jump last year.
They initially played coy on romance rumours before going public on social media.
And the engagement didn’t come as any shock to fans, as Spencer said on Loose Women just three months before popping the question: “I would say that she is absolutely The One. I can’t see it going any other way.”
Congrats, guys!
