Adam Barlow devastated as Eva Price decides to leave Weatherfield in Coronation Street

Will the lawyer follow his true love Eva Price?

| Updated:

Adam Barlow is left gutted next week when the ex-he’s-still-totally-in-love-with, Eva Price, tells him she’s had enough of Weatherfield and is leaving.

She breaks the news to him after he offers her and daughter Susie a place to stay after their current home The Rovers Return is sold.

Eva is touched by his gesture but tells him that Toyah – who she initially gave Susie to in part of a crazy baby swap plot – is still too attached to the little girl.

The former barmaid explains to Adam that she’s just hurting everyone by sticking around and plans to start a new life away from the cobbles with her baby.

Adam is furious with Eva for deciding to leave and he confides in Daniel Osbourne how devastated he is that she’s gone. Again.

Daniel listens to Adam’s woes and tells him that if he loves Eva as much as he says he does, then he should follow his heart.

Adam takes Daniel’s advice on board and considers following Eva, but will he go through with it?

Adam and Eva got together last year following Eva’s disastrous relationship with her former boss Aidan Connor, who is the father of baby Susie.

After discovering that Aidan had been cheating on her for a year with her best friend Maria, Eva enlisted Adam’s help to get revenge on him.

But Eva was forced to call time on their fledgling romance when she agreed with Toyah that she’d keep her pregnancy a secret – obviously having a boyfriend who couldn’t keep his hands off her wasn’t an option.

Adam was heart-broken but didn’t hold a grudge and was quick to step in and offer Eva help when the Connor family descended on her, threatening to take Susie from her.

Johnny and co were outraged to discover the little girl was Aidan’s, following his suicide back in May and were appalled that Eva had kept the baby from them.

Adam’s fake DNA test idea was from the heart as he hoped he could spare Eva a court battle with the Connors but it backfired spectacularly when Johnny got wind of it, making him more determined than ever to get custody of his granddaughter.

There’s no doubt that Adam is completely smitten with Eva but will he risk his life and business on the cobbles for her?

Catherine Tyldesley who plays Eva announced she was leaving the ITV soap last year after six years of playing the ditzy blonde.

She recently revealed that she plans to launch a new career as a writer now she’s quit the daily grind.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, she said: “We plan to travel, laugh as much as possible, live in the moment, work hard and cuddle my boys.

“In between, I’m writing books and scripts too, ideally on a beach or in the Lake District.”

Cath has been vocal about it being a tough decision to leave the show and was even filmed sobbing during her final scenes

She added: “It’s been the hardest decision of my life. Corrie is my second home – best seven years of my life.”

During her final scenes filming Eva’s appearance at the inquest into Aidan Connor’s death.

Emotional Cath broke down as the wrap was called on Eva’s time in Weatherfield as her colleagues filmed the moment for her which she later posted on Instagram.

She captioned the post: “That’s a wrap!!! Time to hang up Eva’s stilettos and wonder bras!

“My beautiful corrie family I ADORE you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

In the video, Catherine cuddles her on-screen baby Susie as her co-stars hug and kiss her goodbye.

Cath’s fans couldn’t help but share in her emotions and commented to tell her.
