Robert Preston’s cancer storyline kicks off in next week’s Corrie when Michelle Connor becomes worried for his health following his release from prison.
It’s already been widely reported that Robert (Tristan Gemmill) will face a battle with testicular cancer and the first signs of him being unwell become apparent as soon as he is home.

Newly-grey Robert has been serving a short sentence for giving his former drug-dealing pal, Rich, a brutal beating when he thought Rich was responsible for terrorising Michelle.
‘Chelle is delighted to have Robert home, but she’s soon worrying about him as it becomes obvious that all is not well with her boyfriend.
The first thing she notices is him grimacing in pain when he goes to sit down.
Michelle tells Robert that he should get himself checked, but he brushes her concerns off – until a race with Bistro co-worker, Daniel Osborne seems to make it worse.
Robert’s convinced he’s simply aggravated an old groin injury and shows Michelle some fitness plans he’s drawn up in a bid to get himself healthy again.
But Robert then lies to Michelle. After deciding to get himself checked over, he tells her the doctor confirmed he’s definitely suffering from groin strain.
How long until Michelle discovers that he’s actually being sent for further tests?
A source previously told The Sun that Robert and Michelle would face this new setback after his release.
The insider said: “This is going to be a big storyline for Robert which is likely to have Coronation Street fans hooked for weeks.
“It will really test his relationship with Michelle as she tries to offer him support in his darkest hour.
