In case you didn’t know by now – in which case, where have you been?, Carla Connor will be making her way back to the Corrie cobbles in the next couple of weeks.
And – in typical soap style – she’s guarding a heartbreaking secret which she’ll reveal to her old friend, Roy Cropper.

When Carla bounces back into the Street, she’s full of the joys of the festive season and promises her family that she’ll help them reopen Underworld.
Aidan is a little bit peeved when she shows up as she initially says she hasn’t changed her mind since their previous meeting the week before.
But she soon pulls her brother to one side and gives him the good news about the factory.
A toast is made to Carla and the factory, but she doesn’t touch alcohol and – later – opens up to Roy about the devastating secret she’s keeping from the rest of the Connor clan.
Roy, bless him, has rushed back from the Lake District when he heard that Carla was back and she begs him to keep her secret safe.
It doesn’t escape the attention of the locals that she’s only drinking orange juice though, and it’s not long before the gossips on the Street start doing their thing.
Later, the Connors have a family celebration at the Bistro and Carla is the guest of honour as she’s rented a flat out for Aidan and cleared Robert Preston’s debts to help out Michelle.
Sounds like a bit of a fairy godmother to us.
Roy joins the family for the celebrations, but is horrified when he spots Carla with a mojito.
She assures him it’s just a lemonade and slips out of the party unseen.
Carla then prepares to head back to Devon but Roy tells her to move in with him instead so he can support her.
It sounds like there’s something seriously wrong with Carla, but what?
