Corrie SPOILER: Carla guilty over Aidan’s death

Carla's convinced the pressure from the factory pushed Aidan over the edge

| Updated:

With Aidan’s death still hanging heavily over the Connor family, it is no surprise that his loved ones are struggling to come to terms with the fact he decided to take his own life.

But as everyone on Coronation Street wonders what caused the factory owner to think that suicide was his only way out, next week sees Carla blaming herself for her half brother’s death.

She’s thrilled that she has managed to bring some good news to the Connors, still completely in the dark that she is in fact the legal owner of the factory since Aidan left it to her in his will.

But Carla is quick to rain on Alya’s parade when she points out they don’t have the material needed to make up the lucrative order.

The pair come to blows over the issue and furious with how she has been treated, Alya tells Carla where she can stick her job and storms out of the factory.

If only she knew that she didn’t have to quit – she’s the boss!

Alone in the office, Carla breaks down, convinced that Aidan took his own life because being in charge of the factory was all too much for him.

Michelle finds Carla crying in the factory office, where her best friend reveals her theory behind Aidan’s suicide.

But while Carla blames herself for what Aidan did, she has no idea that Imran has just found a copy of Aidan’s will on the work photocopier and is shocked to discover Aidan left the factory to Alya.

Meanwhile, Adam Barlow has some bad news for the Connors when it comes to contesting Aidan’s will.

The only hope they have of trying to keep hold of the factory is to claim Aidan wasn’t of sound mind when he made the will.

Jenny isn’t convinced it will work – sure that Johnny won’t go along with that plan – and insists that they find another way to keep a grip on the family business.

But with the truth now out, time is running out for the Connors.
