Tormented David will lash out at Gary – and the attack will lead to David’s arrest, according to The Sun.

He will rage at Gary for cheating on Sarah with Nicola Rubinstein and getting her pregnant before being led away in handcuffs.

A source told the paper: “Fans will have seen it’s been slowly boiling under for some time now and it will come to a dramatic head.

“David made the threat to Gary a few months ago so he’s definitely got the potential to do damage.”

Viewers know that David will be drugged and raped by his new ‘friend’ Josh in the coming weeks.

The unsettling scenes will focus on David’s emotional state in the aftermath of the sexual assault.

It’s another controversial storyline for Coronation Street who were forced to defend themselves yesterday when fans slammed the ITV soap for featuring a scene where Billy Mayhew took drugs in church.

Billy and his brother Lee took Class A substance heroin in the place of worship, with Lee even commenting ‘this is what heaven must feel like.’

Disgusted fans took to social media to blast the scene -with many branding it offensive and irresponsible – forcing a Corrie spokesperson into defending the scenes.

In a statement to The Mirror, the spokesperson said: “Coronation Street has a strong tradition of tackling serious contemporary issues in a responsible way. In upcoming episodes we will be showing the very negative side of drug taking as Billy’s life starts to fall apart.”
