Ever since Abi Branning was pronounced brain-stem dead following her horror fall from the roof of the Vic on Christmas Day, it’s only been a matter of time before her family would have to say their final goodbyes.
Abi and elder sister, Lauren, both fell after following a suicidal Max onto the roof.
The devastated Brannings have already been told that Abi’s chance of recovery is zero, but Max hasn’t been able to accept the news – even getting a court order to prevent the hospital from turning off her life support.

Despite Lauren and Jack both trying to make Max see that it’s time to do what’s best for Abi, he remains resolute that he can somehow save her.
Next week Max takes drastic measures to delay the life support being turned off, earning him some harsh words from Lauren.
But even her home truths don’t help and it’s only when a nurse shares her experiences with Max that he finally sees sense and begins to calm down.
He doesn’t stay calm for long though as Jay arrives with a package Abi ordered before the accident – it’s a flat pack cot.
Max throws himself into putting it together for the baby but soon loses his temper and smashes it up, just as Dot and Jack arrive.
Will Dot be able to get through to him?
The day arrives when it’s time for the Brannings to say goodbye to Abi as the hospital prepare to turn off the machine.
Will Max be among them?
