Coronation Street SPOILER: Eileen leaves the Street

Eileen's leaving - and she's taking Nicola with her

After months of turmoil, Eileen Grimshaw finally bids a sad farewell to Weatherfield next week, and who can blame her?

It won’t come as a surprise to anyone in Weathefield that the cobbles holds some particularly bad memories for Eileen – especially after what has happened over the last few months.

So when Nicola reveals she is going to move to Bristol to make a fresh start with newborn son Zack, Eileen is more than a little tempted to go with her.

Gary is shocked when Nicola tells him about her plans to move to a new city – especially as it means she will be taking their baby boy with her.

But as Nicola reassures Gary that this isn’t the last he will be seeing of them and that he’s welcome to come and visit at any time, he eventually softens.

Meanwhile Eileen and Fiz meet for a drink and compare their lunatic husbands. Always a nice subject to ponder over a glass of Chardonnay.

But it’s clear that Eileen is struggling with the ghosts on every corner of Coronation Street since Pat Phelan’s demise, and a bottle of wine with Fiz later, Eileen announces she is going to Bristol, too.

Eileen tells a worried Seb that he’s going to have to find somewhere else to live because she’s going to rent number 11 out once she’s gone.

But sensing that Seb doesn’t have anywhere else to go, she reluctantly agrees that he can stay until she finds an official tenant.

Meanwhile, over at the cab office Steve and Tim are gutted that Eileen is going and throw her a leaving party.

But trouble seems to hang around at number 11, because even once everyone has bid Eileen, Nicola and little Zack a fond farewell, their car is barely off the cobbles before Ali is inviting herself to stay.

But when his mum later reveals she has been sleeping at the garage, will Seb take pity and let her stay?
