Unless you’ve been hibernating under a rock for the past week and half, it won’t have escaped your attention that Max Branning’s world has been left in tatters after his evil revenge scheme was exposed and he was double crossed by James Willmott-Brown.
Since he was brutally stabbed in the back by the family he’s been working with for the past year, all the residents of Albert Square have turned their backs on Max.

Well, everyone apart from his brother, Jack, and his former lover, Stacey Fowler.
And as we know, there are two huge secrets still to be revealed – one of them in the shape of Jane Beale’s voicemails on Stacey’s phone.
We’ve already revealed that the phone finds its way back to its rightful owner over the festive period, which will lead to a heated showdown between Max and Stacey.
Max will be spending Christmas Day with the Fowlers – much to Martin’s annoyance – and Stacey is trying her best to support him now he’s lost everything.
When the residents gather to watch the nativity, Stacey – who’s been roped in to playing the angel – gets a call from Max who claims to have left his wallet inside the house.
Martin’s rubbed up the wrong way when Stace fails to return to the play – with Karen Taylor stepping into the role – and he’s stunned by the amount of loyalty his wife still shows to Max.
Back at the house, Stacey soon realises that Max has an ulterior motive and has lied to get her alone.
A furious Stacey snaps and tells Max to leave right away, but he goads her and tells her she’s lost her Slater spark. That comment earns him a slap from Stacey.
EastEnders bods have previously revealed that Max ‘finds himself in the arms of his very own angel’ this Christmas and believes he has found his saviour.
