EastEnders SPOILER: Max Branning catches Rainie betraying him with Cora

Cora is going to take a huge risk to get her recovering drug addict daughter on side

Cora Cross’ return to EastEnders is going to be explosive as she tries to get her daughter to betray Max Branning.

The scheme looks to have backfired in these spoiler pictures with Max catching Cora and Rainie chatting and immediately becoming suspicious.

And she doesn’t just bring herself and her great granddaughter, she’s also got a tempting offer for Rainie to mull over.

But when Max catches them having a hushed conversation he is immediately suspicious and wonders whose side Rainie is actually on.

The sham newly-weds are currently trying to win custody of the little girl.

Cora’s motives become clear however when, after reluctantly leaving the baby with Max and Rainie, she meets up with Patrick and pours her heart out.

Patrick encourages Cora to put the past behind her and repair her relationship with Rainie, which obviously gives Cora food for thought as, when Max leaves Rainie alone with Abi, Cora pops back round.

The next day Rainie tries to talk to Max about Cora but he’s not in the mood for listening and ends up leaving her even more upset than before.

Furious Rainie finds Cora and asks her more about the offer she made the night before.

But Cora then upsets Rainie when she implies that all she’s interested in is money.

Eventually Cora is about to give up on winning Rainie round when her daughter asks for a cheque.

Is she about to turn her back on Max for good?

The last time we saw the fiery OAP was at granddaughter Abi’s funeral in February, where she warned Max to stay away from the family once and for all.

But we all know Max doesn’t take no for an answer. So he married his ex-wife Tanya’s sister Rainie, in the hope it would strengthen his case as a good baby daddy.

An insider told the Daily Mirror: “Max and Rainie are stunned when Cora shows up out of the blue with little Abi and are even more shocked when she allows them to spend time with her.

“It soon becomes clear she has an ulterior motive… is she about to ruin their chances of getting baby Abi?”

Cora definitely got something up her sleeve.
